I'll definitely add "Mother" to the rotation and conduct observations :)
I think that the ocean represents ordinary life with depression. Everything is dull and monotonous, and there are no clear destinations in sight to look forward to. Just a vast expanse of nothing. The broken ship in the center represents the individual suffering from depression; they've been through hell and back, and yet they're still there somehow, badly beaten and weathered, but alive nonetheless. Above and below the ship we see two things that wish to tear it apart or sink it: the hurricane and the monster from the depths, represented by harsh warm tones and intense blues, respectively. I interpret the storm as a metaphor for life's stressors (deadlines, personal struggles, frustration, etc.), while I believe that the mass of tentacles below represents sadness or misery, and that the hundreds of skeletons frozen in the ice had all been dragged down by it and died.
Again, I just want to reiterate how fantastic this artwork is. I'm not really someone who's used to sharing their interpretations like this, but it has seriously opened up my eyes to some big details in the piece I hadn't paid much attention to before, like the theme of spirals throghout. As for the private message, I'm not really sure where you could send it, since I don't use social media all that much, maybe Reddit? My user is u/nadie-nobody
As I said I don't wish to share my interpretation publicly, but if you are still interested, you can find me on Pixel Joint or Cara, or Discord, and if not I will find you on reddit (I had no idea you could write PM's there).
