Empty thumbnail after replacing the image when editing

I'm trying to fix some submitted art that I posted (with the new pallete indicator I was able to see that [somehow] some of my drawings have a few stranded pixels that doesnt belong to the pallete I used), so to fix that I decided to edit and replace the drawings fixed ones.

The problem is that after I replace the "Image" the "Thumbnail" section looks weird, with the drawing zoomed out a lot (I also cant edit the zoom, the buttons are unavailable). When I try to save the changes with the weird thumbnail I get the warning "Your thumbnail looks blank...". This problem happened with all 2 drawings I tried to change the image.

The browser I'm using is Firefox.
