Thomas Feichtmeir @cyangmou Thomas works as a pixelart consultant, artist & art director. He mainly is focused on videogames, art production and management for them, while also doing some art projects in spare time. 2023 he works for tinybuild on Streets of Rogue 2, but since 2012 he worked on 20+ games. some credited titles you might know: Dome Keeper, Songs of Conquest, Blasphemous, Symphony of War, The Mummy Demastered, Vampire Survivors... This art was created in the timeframe from January 20th to February 1st 2022. My goal was to create a classical archetypical fantasy skeleton, this means one with a round shield and scimitar. In terms of design I used a lot of research on Persian, Ottoman and Egypt culture and various archeaological findings as well as paintings of French orientalism -  References were used to hit the general tone, while I stylized everything, tried to generate the feeling of a rich background for the culture this skeleton is coming from. I also wanted to have a very colorful, yet dark look which is easy on the eye and makes a lot of use of simple-shape stylized clustering. A lot of consideration has been given to atmospherics, like the emission of light, the fog and the subtle reflections in the metals.

When you have to zoom in to verify that it is even pixel art you know the artist is next level. The way you rendered the fog here is just insane...
