I am trying to learn how to draw pixel art. Any constructive advice is welcome!

Participating in today's daily challenge wasn't easy... I didn't have many ideas and couldn't come up with anything. Then, after talking to a Discord user, I tried my hand at creating this banana milkshake. I'm quite satisfied, even if I don't consider it a great success, but this pixel art in particular showed me that starting small is crucial. It's true that sometimes I feel the need for more space to try to blend in nuances or to represent the subject with more detail, but the lack of space also forces me to think and better understand the key points of the detail I want to include so I can translate it to 16x16. I'm sure this work I'm doing will help me a lot when I move on to 32x32 pixel art. Below are the links to the inspo I referenced and the palette I used:
