Started pixel art in november 2023 as a way to cope with depression and express myself through a form of art I am quite fond of.

I've been trying out my hand at pixel art for the last 3 days. It's been a newfound interest of mine lately. This is my first attempt at a portrait inspired by Batman The Animated Series videogames on the SNES (you know, during the cutscenes when Batman talks to Alfred in a little thumbnail), it took me about one hour and a half, trying to learn to use Aseprite and it's many tools in the process. I used the game's thumbnail (which you may find here: https://www.pinterest.ca/pin/215187688422562500/) as a visual aide to get the proportions right but I've contoured and used the line tool to create the shapes of Batman's cowl and shoulders and started from there for the rest of colouring, shading and creating the background as a nod to the dark oranges of the original show from which I have fond memories. I've also tried using the "lighten" mode to create some highlight in the backfround and to imitate where light would come from I guess? Critiques are welcomed! I'm trying to improve myself in pixel art and learn something new everyday!
