Kubsamboll 2017 @kubsamboll-2017 British diesel locomotive created in 1962 by Crewe Works. The locomotive was commissioned by the British Transport Commission to replace steam locomotives being withdrawn from service and to strengthen the fleet of diesel locomotives. In 1961, the first locomotive prototype was constructed - D0280, also known as BR Class 53 or Falcon. In 1962, two more prototypes were created - D0260, also known as Falcon, and DP2 (resembling the appearance of the Deltic Class 55 locomotive). The locomotive is still used today on various lines in the British Isles.
