This new feature allows you to open a pallete directly in any supporting software without having to download anything! All you have to do is install an app that integrates with Lospec, and click the new Open in app... option under the palette downloads. It will ask you which software to use, then launch it in your desired app. Currently supported software:
This is the easiest way to import a palette into most programs. You import the palette as pixels onto your canvas and then can use the eyedropper tool to select colors.
Pasting the file in
Download the PNG file of your selected palette.
Right click on the image
Select Copy image from the menu (or something similar)
Open up your preferred pixel editor
Create a new document
Paste in your palette either through the file menu or with Ctrl + V
Importing the file
Download the PNG file of your selected palette.
Right click on the image
Select Save image as... from the menu and save it somewhere on your computer
Open up your preferred pixel editor
Open the palette file as a document (typically under File > Open)
Resize the document to give you room to pixel.
Photoshop
Download your palette in ASE format and save it to your computer
Make sure the Swatches panel is open by clicking Window from the file menu and clicking Swatches
Click on the Swatches options button
Select Replace Swatches...
Find the palette file you downloaded and click Open
Pyxel Edit
Download your palette in .PNG format and save it to your computer
Create a new document
Click on Color from the top menu
Select Import from image...
Find the palette file you downloaded and click Open
Aseprite
Download your palette in .PAL, .GPL, .PNG format and save it to your computer
Create a new document
Click on Color from the top menu
Select Import from image...
Find the palette file you downloaded and click Open
GrafX2
Download your palette in .PAL format and save it to your computer
Click the L on the Save/Load button ( ) from the bottom menu
Find the palette file you downloaded
Click Load
MS Paint
MS Paint does not allow palette importing, use PNG Files.
GraphicsGale
Download your palette as in .PAL or .PNG format and save it to your computer
Create a new document. Make sure the color bit-depth (dropdown on right) is set to fit enough colors for the palette you chose.
Inside the Color Palette window, click on the button
Click on the File ▼ button
Select Import from file...
Find the palette file you downloaded and click Open
In the box on the left, click and drag from the first color in your palette to the last
Click once at the top left of the box on the right
Click okay
Cosmigo Pro Motion
Download your palette as in .PNG format and save it to your computer. (Note: the .PAL files downloaded from this site will not work)
Create a new document.
Open the Colors menu at the top
Select Load palette...
Find the palette file you downloaded and click Open
Paint.net
Download your palette in .TXT format
Save the file into the Paint.net Palettes folder (Typically C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\paint.net User Files\Palettes)
Create a new document
Inside the Color Palette window, click on the button
Select your palette from the list
GIMP
Download your palette in .GPL, .PAL or .ACO format
Create a new document
Make sure the palettes dialog is shown by going to Windows > Dockable Dialogs > Palettes
Right click on the list of palettes
Select Import Palette...
Under Select Source click on Palette file
Click on the box next to Palette File, to open the file dialog
Find the palette file you downloaded and click Open
Avoyd Voxel Editor
Download your palette as in .PNG format
Select File > Import > Image (.jpg, .png, .tga) as Material Type...
Find the palette file you downloaded and click Open
Set Maximum Number of Colours to the maximum allowed. This ensures the discreet colours are kept as they are.
