SeDiceBisonte @sedicebisonte I've had an interest in pixel art for years but only started making it in 2020. I can more often be found over at Pixel Joint, where you can see a few more of my older pieces and ones that are more Pixel Joint-specific.

pixeljoint

A portrait of actress Dorothy Mackaill, drawn from this reference in a custom Game Boy palette. I've never seen any of her films; I just liked the portrait and thought it was a good one to copy as I try to improve my drawing skills.

This started with me blocking out values first. I wasn't really intending to make a pixel art piece but, after rendering it badly as a digital painting, I moved into my preferred medium. I intend to draw some more silent-era portraits because I love the lighting in them and I think a lot of the actors have interesting faces, but I'll definitely start the process as pure pixel art next time.

Massive thanks to hintoflime, SurrealEmber, Tipleloop, Umbohr and my partner for the incredibly helpful crits.
