ANSI Forlorn 64 Palette
This palette uses only colors from the old 216 color "web-safe" list that was never really used for much in practice. So the only values for the r, g, or b components are one of: 0x00, 0x33, 0x66, 0x99, 0xCC, or 0xFF. The creation of it came about because I was thinking of making a moodily colored textmode videogame, & that 216 color cube is commonly available in ANSI 256-color text modes.Well, I got my research mixed up and most textmodes use different hex values for that color cube (0x00, 0x5f, 0x87, 0xAF, 0xD7, 0xFF are the values often used), but I liked it, and I started coloring my game art with these colors. It has a kind of retro vibe, and still looks nice when used in a typical 256 color text console (with those alternate hex values).
There is a pretty good range for different art styles, and it can get a nice NTSC NES look pretty easily.
