DYSCOUNTERS FFE ELITE3 SAFE Palette
Safe*, 86 colors "dystopian-encounters" palette, primarily made for custom "cabin" backgrounds in "Frontier: First Encounters" (FFE) aka Elite 3.Palette is extracted (and sorted afterward) as union of all 6 original "cabin" background colorspaces. It was missing for <30 years.
It provides very dystopian, cold and dark atmosphere, although it is possible to make bright and pleasant setup (e.g. CABIN4.BMP). Moreover, it is intended for blurry backgrounds (not so often found as pixel art, imo).
*It is considered safe because it does not interfere with ("infamous") videos playing on top of it: all (or most) other colors from DOS Mode13h VGA 256 palette are reserved for video reproduction. Although: it is allowed to use all 256 colors in FFE for bkgs, but weird videos are becoming even more strange then, and parts of backgrounds start to dynamicaly and randomly change colors. Moreover, colors are not restored entirely afterwards (when video stops).
