The Lospec Palette List is a database of palettes for pixel art. We include both palettes that originate from old hardware that could only display a few colors, as well as palettes created by pixel artists specifically for making art. All palettes can be downloaded and imported into your pixelling software of choice (learn how). You can also try a our palette of the day or a random palette.

The palette I'm using currently for my pixel arts. 7 color ramps (gray, red, purple, blue, cyan, green and yellow) that can be used for each other. This palette was also used as a required limitation in the Palette Jam 2 on Itch.io

Originally made as a palette for one of my asset packs, ANB16 contains 6 color ramps (Gray, Pink, Red, Green, Blue and Brown) distributed along 16 different color values, with interchangeable colors along them (such as the orange/yellow colors, which can be used for the brown ramp, or the darkest "blue", which can be used in all ramps but brown). Made to be as general-use as it can be, while also being restricted by the amount of colors on it. Because it was originally made for one of my asset packs, it has a saturated look to it, which should make your art pop-out.

After making Cheerful-24 and Cheerful-32, I felt like making a darker, less saturated palette next, and here it is! I went with 16 colours this time, because less saturated colours are a lot more versatile. Hope you like it!

TaikonColor is a fictional console who has a hard time displaying colors the intended way, resulting in various "unexpected" visual bugs which create an enchanted retro yet modern experience for it's games, part of the reason why people still play games made with it after 20 years since it's initial release.
