The Lospec Palette List is a database of palettes for pixel art. We include both palettes that originate from old hardware that could only display a few colors, as well as palettes created by pixel artists specifically for making art.

Yellow + Blue = Magenta

This palette follows PC-98 specs: 16 colors in 12-bit RGB colordepth (4096 different possible colors, R G and B values have 64 distinct steps ). I developed it with GrafX2 while making the sampled portrait, so it's meant to be used for warm-ish dithered illustrations. All three ramps (pink, skintone, gray-to-brown) interlock and join at the light and dark ends, so within their very limited colorspace they should be somewhat versatile.

Another palette in PC-98 specs: 16 colors in 12-bit RGB. This time it's whitish-orange skintones, reds, purples and teal, in that order of importance. All three ramps interlock in brightness and join at the dark end, the light end is yellowish/cream. I developed the palette in GrafX2 with heavy use of DawnBringer's palette analysis tool.

Palette in PC-98 specs: 16 colors, 12-bit RGB colordepth. All three ramps interlock with each other in luminosity and join at the light end, but only the blue and brown ramps join at the dark end. Developed with GrafX2 for a triple portrait with lots of black, hair, and denim.

Based on the North Queensland Day Moth, this palette has two darker colors and two lighter colors, and is designed with heavy use of dithering or mixing colors in mind. It could also be used for a simpler gameboy style with less dithering, as the colors do form a ramp. It's just that wouldn't be as easy to look at, because the colors aren't evenly spaced.
This is a 10 colour pallete that should be used in Full-RGB Dithering
