The colors in this palette were designed as a 3x3 grid, where any line between the lightest and darkest color can be a viable ramp. I felt it looked warm and summery, but also a bit crayon like, so the name is a combination of "wax" and "sun", but could also be interpreted as "waxing", meaning getting stronger, like the summer getting warmer at this time of year.
