The Lospec Palette List is a database of palettes for pixel art. We include both palettes that originate from old hardware that could only display a few colors, as well as palettes created by pixel artists specifically for making art. All palettes can be downloaded and imported into your pixelling software of choice (learn how). You can also try a our palette of the day or a random palette.

The Perfect Palette 2.0

Created by Alessio Benvenuto

If you are searching a 64 color palette, there's 94% chance this is the one for you. How can I be so sure? I'm not, but at the same time we'll never get the actual statistics, so I can as well be right until further investigations. Anyway seriously, do download this palette, it's the only thing I am proud of since the day I was born.

Coldwood8

Created by ANoob

A palette containing two color ramps, blue and red, which share their same brightest and darkest color (white and black). The colors were made to be flexible, so the blues can work as a bright green too, while the reds can also work as a saturated brown.

Hot Highlights, Cold Shadows

Created by Asarge

A palette with vibrant saturated colors that maintain a grounded and balanced style. With highlights ramping towards hot colors, and the shadows ramping towards cold you will have an immersive contrast that is pleasing to the eye.

  • Hot Highlights, Cold Shadows Palette Example by Asarge

Palette examples. Note how the less saturated brown examples used for trees/sand can help boost colors around it. You can have similar desaturated cold lifeless metals, wood, etc to apply this affect in other cases. For best use avoid mixing the brown ramps as this is intended to be used for specific cases where you need more contrast. - by Asarge

Compliment6

Created by Royal_Naym

A 6 color palette based on the CVD6 palette by Ádám Szieberth. I have not only brought their values closer together and modified their saturations, but also replaced the pure black and white by a deep green and a soft, pinkish white.

nice69

Created by marCOmics

"69 shades of more than gray."  This sexy palette consists of handpicked, recherché colors, whose hues were tested and ripened in the sultry heat of anticipation of over 420 dank days. The fervently beaming tints snuggle each other on tight colorramps, forming an interlocking set of multifarious colors. It's predominantly focussed on light, vibrant lightwaves that penetrate your lusting eyes, arousing your ticklish and sensitive photoreceptors.  Still, the palette is rich in seducing nuances and zealously optimized for versatile use - especially in passion projects that *highly saturate* one's thirst for pixelated pleasures. Each color was deliberately named to get (at least) your creative juices flowing.  Today, nerdettes and gentlenerds, I present to you: The caressingly crafted, the climactic opus magnum of my oeuvre: The nice69™!!
