The Lospec Palette List is a database of palettes for pixel art.
We include both palettes that originate from old hardware that could only display a few colors, as well as palettes created by pixel artists specifically for making art.
Lately I've been experimenting with SNES style palettes of 15-colors + transparency for my fantasy console. This is an attempt at designing a sort of "system palette," broadly inclusive of the full color spectrum. My strategy was to get as many color ramps as possible, covering each of the 6 primary and secondary colors, and gray. With black and white, each ramp other than gray has 4 entries. I tried to match colors for relatively even percieved brightness, but fudged it a bit where I thought it might help mixing between ramps.

TaikonColor is a fictional console who has a hard time displaying colors the intended way, resulting in various "unexpected" visual bugs which create an enchanted retro yet modern experience for it's games, part of the reason why people still play games made with it after 20 years since it's initial release.
