The Lospec Palette List is a database of palettes for pixel art.
We include both palettes that originate from old hardware that could only display a few colors, as well as palettes created by pixel artists specifically for making art.

Although it says "16 colors", there are really only 15 colors, since one of those colors is used for transparencies
, I wanted to create a color palette that could achieve many harmonious combinations with just a few colors. I guess it would be ideal for fantasy consoles (if you don't mind pastel tones) or for retro aesthetics like the GameBoy Color

Based on the wonderful Vanilla Milkshake palette by Space Sandwitch it has been examples to have a few more darker leaning options that stay in that desatureated hue. It also adds a few colors to allow for some skin tone selections

Like all my color palletes, it's says "32 colors" but one of those colors is used for transparencies. This is the evolution of my two previous palettes: "PastelPop16" and "AxulArt32" (Yes, I know, it makes me cringe having used my own nickname for my first published palette in lospec
) .By the way, you can see more of my art at: https://axulart.tumblr.com/ and https://axulart.itch.io/

Yet another gbc palette, this comes from the sprites of Pokemon Puzzle Challenge, courtesy of the spriters resource. The games sprites have a really nice pop and pastelish look I really liked. It also has a surprisingly decent selection of skin tones. The simple variety of colors could work an rpg, portraits, or anything you'd like.

Palette based on various screenshots I took during my playthrough of Pokemon Crystal Legacy, both from overworld and battles. The coloration comes from the default filter the emulator had, leading to smooth not so bright colors.

This palette is based on the Game Boy Color game Survival Kids 2, which was only released in Japan. I use a bunch of screenshots from the game and extracted the colors, then reduced it as much as possible without losing too much of the original charm. The original game had more subtle variations between shades on different maps, and probably has hundreds of different colors, but i think this approximation is like 95% accurate, and much easier to use. Black is used heavily on all parts of the games, the next 16 colors are used for sprites and cutscenes, and the rest of the palette is for background environment tiles. It should be noted this is based on the output from an emulator, and the real game would be much more desatured on an actual gameboy, but I like how they look with these bright colors. Different emulators can also display the colors differently, so this isn't an official palette, just an interpretation. In the end I converted it to 15-bit RGB (each value is divisible by 8) like the gameboy color uses, the difference was negligible.
