The Lospec Palette List is a database of palettes for pixel art. We include both palettes that originate from old hardware that could only display a few colors, as well as palettes created by pixel artists specifically for making art.

Mupix9

Created by Mupix

Mupix9 is a simple and compact master palette for multi-purpose usage. The intention behind this palette is to show how versatile some shades can be. The teal shades can be used for water, sky, and even foliage, while the browns and yellows can be used for dirt, tree trunks, and skin tones.

I made this palette to serve as a master palette for most of my pieces. Has a varied skin tone ramp. Very saturated.

  • Cold Morning 32 Palette Example by Joy Pink

I made a bunch of different things honestly. I started with Rick and Morty, then I made a bunch of different colored hearts, after that, I made a cloud and a giant block. This is just a bunch of random crap honestly lmao - by Joy Pink

Shanty

Created by Poltergasm

Just another palette I put together for a game. Pirate themed this time, hence the name "Sea Shanty". If you're wondering about the low contrast blues and greens, I used them primarily for background objects far away.

sCRJ XXXVI

Created by Carter Janik

StudioCRJ’s first pixel art color palette! Designed with simplicity and versatility in mind, this color palette has 6½ ramps and thirty-six colors in total. This palette ranges on the cooler side — with the grays ranging towards blue — but you can still use it for almost any pixel art project. I may create an improved palette with more colors if there’s enough support and demand for it!

Kirb32

Created by PureAsbestos

A palette fine-tuned over the years for a bright pop of color that doesn't strain the eyes. I use it for most of my art these days, and you might call it my master palette. It can be used in a wide variety of situations. The reddish-black and near-black blue lend themselves well to dim environments or space. The purplish grays lend a certain flair to metal and stone, and help fill out the otherwise small selection of purples. Initially inspired by Kirby 15, which is where the name comes from.
